Laos Part II (from Luang Prabang to Vientiane)

29.05. -  05.06.2013 (Vang Vieng)

early in the morning we startet in direction to Vientiane. On our way we met Bas, who already climbed a bigger summit. the whole day was very exhausting because we had to cycle 700 altimeter. In the late afternoon we met two guys with their motobikes, Miles and Siggi from GB . One of them was still lying in the street. he had a small accident and decided to smoke a cigarette. the weather became worse and at a truckstop we had the possibility to built our tents below a shelter.
the coming days were very tough. up and down, once time 20 km only uphill. altitude 1.400 m.
We had a lot of fun together with Bas, the "new" cyclist and we travelled through a gorgeous landscape.
On June 2nd we arrived in Vang Vieng. We decided not to stay in the centre, because it was really nasty. guesthouse next to guesthous and too many backpackers, only to want to have party, drinking alcohol and taking drugs. we stayed  at the Mulberry Organic Farm. A very beautiful place !  Absolut friendly people, delicious food and Astrid did some volunteering: feeding the Guinea pigs, milking the goats. Due to the fact that I am always hungry I supported the farm to sell her delicious food: I was eating quite the whole day ;-) we relaxed some days, were we visited one of the local caves at the Blue Lagoon. First time we met Bärbel from Germany with her partner Johan from Netherlands. the day before we had contact with them via Facebook and the next day we had lunch together. small world :-)
